How to make a Resin Art Keychain?

You can make your own epoxy keychains in just 5 simple steps:

Measurement 1.

The first step of your epoxy keychain is to measure out all components in the right proportion and add colouring if necessary.

For component A and B, it is important that you apply equal proportions (1:1). So to make 100ml of epoxy, you need 50ml of component A and 50ml of component B.

Mixing

Step 2 of this fun project is to mix all components well until it becomes one smooth and clear (depending on colouring) liquid. This takes about 3 minutes.

3 minutes sounds quite long to stir a clear liquid. But with epoxy, it is important to work slowly and carefully with the material to avoid air bubbles.

Note! Stir the mixture slowly until smooth for the best results.

Casting

Step 3 comes after mixing. Now you get to pour the mixture. Take the mixing cup and pour the mixture into the silicone mould in your letter(s) of choice.

Again, make sure you do this slowly to avoid air bubbles.

Choose your favourite letter from the alphabet, the first letter of your dog's name or that of the birthday boy whose birthday is coming up soon.

Hardening

Now that you have had to do all the work in steps 1 to 3, it is now time for the epoxy to do some contributing.

Step 4 is all about curing the epoxy. This process starts about 15 to 30 minutes after you mix both components together.

Curing takes a total of 72 hours, in the first 24 hours you will see the most difference and they already seem ready. Still, we recommend waiting the entire 72 hours before removing your epoxy creations from the silicone fitting.

5. Attaching keychain ironware

The last step before you can start showing off your new keychain is to attach the ironware to your epoxy creation.

Ironware for a keyring, of course, simply means the rings that connect the keyring to your keys! Using the hand drill, first drill a hole in your letter and then screw in the screw eye. Then attach the chain with the key ring as well and your key ring is ready!
